Wastrels Anonymous

The eve of New Year’s eve Wastrels “E”, Missy Wastrel “S”, “F”, “Mrs F” and me went to the zoo.

After that, we had steamboat dinner.

We started the dinner with lots of drinks. Feels shiok after a hot day at the zoo. The tom yam soup at first tasted rather bland, but towards the end it got really tasty. Missy Wastrel “S” like it so much she drank several bowls (with her secret recipe mix of 50% tom yam and 50% chicken soup… or was it 47% and 53%… anyway, it’s secret) even though she’s full. As you can see from the peeks, lots of fish ball, fish cake, crab sticks and other exotic food while we avoid the common food like prawns.

We also talked about “F”‘s housewarming gift ideas and it seems the ideal gift would be one of the following:

1. washing board
2. large stone stab
3. washing board
4. washing board
5. washing board

Such a tough decision.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip to the zoo.

ok, today me n missy wastrel s was going home by bus after eating our dinner at some steamboat place after going to the zoo… Everything was fun up to this point when an idiotic pig board the bus…. he went to the seat behind me n mws, plumbed him down like the useless piece of shit he is, n bam put 1 of his knee up against the back of our seat forcefully.. one time, ok forget it.. maybe he did not do it intentionally. 5 secs later, bam he slam his other knee against the seat again…wah lau like tt confirm is purposely one…fucker…n wats worst he start coughing really hard…mws can even felt his cb cough on her hair…n tt fucker smell really bad….even thou me n mws been out since 10+ walking under the sun at the zoo, we still smell muuuuuuuuuuch better than him. That’s how bad he smell, but then again, dun think any shit would smell nice thou, especially one of his calibre.

When we alight the bus, we saw his cb face. Totally fugly, felt like calling him a retard but tt would totally b insulting them. Would definitely send regards to his parents in hokkien in my younger days. And after complaining so much n cooled down, i dun really noe how i wan to end this post.

So, think i will just end it by saying, “who ever u r, i sincerely hope ppl will not mistreat u and gif u the proper treatment like the piece of fugly shit tt you r.”

New toy! Presenting the Panasonic Lumix FX30 and Toshiba high-speed 20MB/sec SD card!

Let me try to rationalise the puchase. Hahaha… I need (want?) a digital camera because I like to shoot junk photos. My old DSLR broke and repairs will cost me $600+, so I decided not to repair it but buy a new digital camera instead.

I originally wanted a waterproof compact digital camera but all of them take horrible photos! Since there’s no perfect digicam I have to prioritise my needs (wants?).

I need (want):
1. Good lens or sensor
2. Good sensor or lens (I can’t decide which is more important)
3. Wide angle lens
4. Waterproof
5. Uses AA batteries

After researching and hunting for the Fuji F20, F30, F31, Panasonic FX10, FX30, Olympus mju 720, I went with the FX30.

It has two (maybe three) of the top three requirements above. The sensor is a bit noisy but fairly acceptable, the lens is great (negligible chromatic aberration, 0% barrel distortion at 100mm, 0.5% barrel distortion at 28mm) and it is wide (28mm, vs 35-38mm for most other digital compacts, and these few mm is quite significant in photography).

And best of all, because it’s such an “old” and “obsolete” model (launched in Feb 2007! How antique!) it’s relatively cheap! The current models of the same family, essentially a 8mp version (FX33) cost $490, while the FX55 which essentially is the FX33 with a slightly larger LCD screen cost $549 (both prices already discounted from MSRP, “best price”).

The shop tries to con me into buying accessories for the cam, but being the smart wastrel that I am I rejected their high-priced memory cards and carrying pouches. A trip to Challenger got me buying the Toshiba 1G high-speed 20MB/sec SD card. It’s funny that the Sandisk version of the card cost twice as much (it also comes in a box twice as big).

Both products are “Made in Japan”. Hopefully it refers to the internals of the camera and the memory card, and not the sticker that reads that. I have a bit of a phobia of electronics Made In China…

Recently just watched the show 投名状 (The Warlords)… wah lau eh very nice cos damn bloody!! kill ppl like no biz..seeing the 3 bros remind me one liu bei, kwan yu n zhang fei during the san guo dynasty… but the stupider version of cos, no tactic just use body count for the battle. Their 1st battle seem so much like dynasty warrior where main char 1 person can chiong 1000 K.O…… althou abit exaggerated the show but quite a nice movie… not so much for the battles or tactic but more on the internal struggles each chars faced after the battles.. n of cos the scene tt 李连杰 kicking 金城武 ass make it a must see movie… i gif it a rating of 4/5. So if u haven watch it yet go watch it becos 大哥是對的!!!!
