Wastrels Anonymous

After using my Sony Fontopia MDR-EX70LP earphones for around 5 years now, i decided to retire it thou it had served me faithfully despite turning yellow and had some*ahem* algae on it haha. Thus I went down to The Adelphi (Jaben) today after some recommendations. The owner (Wilson) is a very jovial old man! Good man good service good products! Anyway let’s have a look at my old Sony.

Today, Four Wastrels “R”, “E”, “F”, and “I”, together with new Wastrel “H”/”W” went out for a steamboat dinner! It’s that 重庆正宗老火锅 store opposite Shaw Tower. We got chicken soup and tom yam base soup. It was yummy… from the look of things, we’re mostly fans of tom yam…

After dinner, we went for a walk at Bugis Junction and settled for Big Milk Shakes at Terra cafe. Two strawberry ones, two chocolate ones and one coffee one.

Just in case you’re wondering what happened to the wastrels, we’re still alive.

You see, three out of the five wastrels are struggling with exams for the past two weeks. Today is the finale for Wastrel “R”, Wastrel “F” had his last paper two days ago, and Missy Wastrel “S” has her exams coming up in June. The other two idling wastrels “I” and “E” are looking for new fortunes to waste before starting their courses in July. Ok, make that fortune search applicable for “R” and “F” too.

Hopefully one of us strikes Toto soon, and we’ll be able to update you all with more interesting facets of our wastrel lives.

I went online to search for a bunch of personality test. Guess what? I am an INFP, an idealist, same thing after all these years. Maybe that’s why I am doomed to find no happiness in whatever material stuff that I am doing. Hmmm … I am good with all these literature, humanities stuff huh? What am I going to do with these? Living in a capitalist society, where everyone has been brainwashed to become top of the notch and to buy into mass media’s idea of an American dream, where do I stand? Do I have to day after day chase senseless monetary gains as opposed to taking a good walk; a good stroll in the park? I am turning into a useless person as defined by our society, a society where a person lesser than having a good degree and an excellent job is defined as useless. In our strive for honour and glory, often we have forgotten that with every honour and glory that we achieve someone had to path the way for you. Someone had to be the lousy, useless pathetic junk, so that we can contrast ourselves against them. Now I am that piece of junk, so what can I do next? Perhaps to find something more fulfilling in life to do? Something that once I had my hands on I can fully become that great achiever that I wanted to be in life. Something that would make me feel great.

Know of any jobs along the line of counsellors, psychologists, philosophers, literature writers, that would accept me with a diploma in Civil & Structural Engineering? Maybe teachers?

Ok, today im going to tell a story abt the little doggie again….

Few days ago, the little doggie went his gf to watch a movie…. As it was a week day, the cinema was quite empty oso.. There was little doggie, his gf and 3 other persons intially. Suddenly, when the movie was abt to start, he heard the chattering of a group of monkeys.. “Jia lat liao” he thought… As he know from experience tt a single monkey is harmless but when they come in a group, they will create havoc…  Before he know it, the monkeys are taking over the cinema wif their incoherent blabbering and strange chanting…

“OMFG!! wat could b worse” Just as this tot flashed thro’ his mind.. A group of loud giggly teenage bitches coming in n occupied the whole row behind him and start chatting away.. So throughout the whole movie, he have to tahan the monkeys’ shouting and the bitches’ chattering….

This is not the 1st time this thing happened liao… He had observed for quite sometime that the some of the younger generation animals had basically no manners and  showed no consideration to others. Chatting and shouting in cinema r not proper behaviour anyone show b showing as it is disgraceful and rude. the little doggie oso believed that those monkeys and bitches r not uneducated, but their behaviour is very rude. 

Hai~ what happening to youngsters nowaday man… Anyway, wif our golden eagle educational system, dun think anything will improve very soon.. cya
