Yet another complain letter to Citibank. Though there is alot of promotion for this card but I would not encourage using this card as the service and system of citibank is sucky. Too many bad experience.

p.s: I was being told if I were to opt for online statement I would not received paper statement, which UOB and DBS could provide. Simply cannot understand why such a huge bank could not fufill such a request.

My Complains are as below:

I am a holder of citibank credit card. I am writing in to express my frustration with the system and service of citibank. Previously I had wrote in to express my unhappiness with citibank step-up account and was very disappointed with the service. However, as the SMRT credit card promotion was attractive hence I decided to give citibank another chance to prove that it was a superior bank. However, again to my disappointment I was being wrongly charged of late payment of $43 plus. I had not received a single statement from citibank since my registration to inform me of my outstanding. I had been waiting for my statements for near 2 months till I called in to citibank and found out that I had opted to receive online statement which I did not received any notice for this. In addition to this, I was not even given the internet password to view my online statement for my SMRT credit card. Only when I called in to the call centre today than I realised that I was being charged for late payment which your kind customer service officer had later waived off. Though the late charged was being waived off, I would like to express my unhappiness and disappointment to citibank and sincerely wished that you could improved on your system and service. Thank you.

Below is a complain letter that I had wrote to Cheeti Bank with my lousy ang mo:

I wish to express my unhappiness with the customer service. I had received a letter from Cheeti Bank to notify me that I had withdraw money from my inactive account and requested that I call Cheeti Bank customer service to confrim or to remain slience and after 7 days it will be deemed that I had withdraw the money.On seeing this I decided not to call Cheeti Bank.A week later Cheeti Bank sent another letter to me saying that I had “zero” balance in my bank account and it has been dormant and if it continue to remain zero balance it will be closed. On seeing this letter worried me as I had just banked-in money into Cheeti Bank a few days before the date stated on the letter. I got worried and I call in to the customer service to confirm if my money was still in the bank. The customer service officer reassured me that my money is still in the account.A week after I called Cheeti Bank, someone from Cheeti Bank called and claimed that she wants to confirm my ID as she says she that my account is dormant. I told her that I do not feel safe to divulge my personal particulars to her on the phone as I do not know if she is truly an officer from Cheeti Bank. She accepted my replied and said she will sent me a letter.The following week after that officer called I received another called requesting to confirm my ID. I told this officer that a week ago a officer had call. I told her to stop calling and she replied that she will sent me a letter.Last week I received yet another call from Cheeti Bank officer claiming that she too wants to confirm my ID for my dormant account and I told her that 2 officers had previously called me claiming that they want to confirm my account and had said that they will sent me a letter when I refused to confirm my ID through phone, but up till now I had yet to received a single letter from Cheeti Bank!I was wondering if the above calls are phoney calls that some con-man are using Cheeti Bank name to collect Cheeti Banks customer personal particulars or there is some internal communication problem within Cheeti Bank?I had also tried to used the card issued my Cheeti Bank card which I used to withdraw money, to pay for my bills as I thought it could be used like a debit card, in the end I was told that this card could not be used.I do not understand that these cards which have a visa logo could not be used to pay for my bill when I have sufficient balance in my account! Does this means that this card can only be used for withdrawing and depositing money? If this is the case what does the visa logo on the card represent?Frustrated with the above, I call the 24 hr customer service hotline at 6225 5225 to terminate my account but the line was engaged after trying for 1 hr!

Cheeti Bank had always given me an image of a prestige bank, but after my experience with Cheeti Bank on the above I am utterly disappointed. Lastly, I wish to terminate my account with effect from 27.11.2007.
